I want President Obama to succeed!

Monday, January 26th, 2009

Here is how I define success as a President:

Success is doing such a good job that I would support the President for another term.

What would it take for me to support President Obama for another term?

He would have to have a political conversion and govern as a conservative.  Am I asking too much?  It wouldn’t be too hard to be more conservative the Bush or McCain.

Does President (Elect) Obama have a plan to reduce the military?

Friday, January 16th, 2009

President (Elect) Obama has announced that he will repeal the “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy regarding homosexuality in the military.

Is he unaware of the Military Times survey where 24% of the respondents say that they will leave the military at the first opportunity, if the policy is repealed?  Is he clueless or is this a plan to reduce the size of the military?

Credibility?

Why didn’t the Arab League call for a Cease Fire when Hamas was firing thousands of rockets into Israel before Israel decided to stop the rockets by destroying Hamas’ ability to attack Israel?

Where are the people who told us that there would be peace if Israel withdrew from Gaza and the “West Bank”?

Is the Roland Burris appointment racist?

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

Is it racist to say that someone appointed to replace someone must be of the same race or ethnic group?

Was the Governor of Illinois’ nomination of Roland Burris to replace Barack Obama an attempt to “play the race card” so his nomination couldn’t be criticized?

Group politics are just as wrong when they favor one group as when they discriminate against another.

It is sad that the content of Roland Burris’ character is not part of the discussion of his nomination.  All we know about him is that he was an Attorney General in Illinois and has lately been a lobbyist in Washington.  There has been no reporting about what he has been lobbying for or against.
