Bernie Maddoff gets 150 years in prison, but what about … ?

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Bernie Maddoff gets 150 years in prison, but what about the bureaucrats who enabled him or were warned about him and did nothing?  Shouldn’t they be in the same cell block?

Where are the trials of the people behind Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac scandals?

I believe Bernie Maddoff should spend the rest of his life in jail (doing hard labor not writing his memoirs), but he should have plenty of company!

House Vote On Passage: H.R. 2454: American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 (aka the single largest tax increase in American history)

What is more important?

Friday, June 26th, 2009

From the news coverage today you would think that the most important news of today is:

  1. The death of Michael Jackson.
  2. The affair of Gov. Sanford.
  3. Congressman Conyers’ wife pleading guilty this morning to conspiring to commit bribery.
  4. North Korea threatening war.
  5. The regime in Iran slaughtering its citizens.

The real important news story is that the House of Representatives passed a climate control bill 219-212, with eight Republicans voting “Yes” and 44 Democrats voting “No”.

I didn’t learn in science class that we could affect the climate by passing laws.  But then I took most of my classes that talked about weather before the 1977 proclamation of “The Coming Ice Age”.

Hopefully, the Senate will do its job and stop this nonsensical bill from becoming law.

Character

David Letterman has none.

After making a joke about a baseball player impregnating Sarah Palin’s daughter who was at a game, David Letterman tries to argue that it wasn’t dispicable, because he thought it was the 18 year daughter at the game instead of the 14 year old.

John McCain kicked people of his campaign for saying Barack Hussein Obama’s full name and spoke out against anyone who said anything denigrating against his opponents.

Barack Obama said during the campaign that families were off limits.  Since then he has been silent as his supporters have savaged the Palin family.  President Obama is fortunate the conservatives have higher standards.  Does his “bully pulpit” only apply to things on his agenda?

Humor from Rush Limbaugh today

RUSH: What do Obama and God have in common?  Neither has a birth certificate.  How do they differ?  God does not think he’s Obama.  And there’s another difference between God and Obama, and that is that liberals love Obama.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: We have some more differences for you here between President Obama and God.  God asks for only 10% of your money.  God gives you freedom to live your life as you choose.  God’s plan to save us is actually written down for people to read.

I worry about President Obama.   If you wonder why read Acts 12:21-23.

Where is the outrage?

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

Dr. Tiller get shot on Sunday and the Pro-Life movement unanimously speaks out against it, immediately.

Pvt. Long, an Army recruiter, gets shot and his sergeant wounded by a Muslim convert who claims he did it for religious reasons.  Where is the outrage from the Muslim community?

The Obama Administration took 3 days to even mention Pvt. Long.
